Privacy Policy
QnVibe (qnvibe.in and the QnVibe Android app) is based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu 600100, India ("we"). This page says what we collect, why, who sees it, and how you can have it corrected or deleted.
What we collect
- Your account: your name and email address from Google sign-in.
- Your profile: phone number (checked with a one-time code), whether you are a student or a teacher, gender, date of birth, class and exams, subjects, languages and profile photo. Teachers also add education, experience, fees and a UPI ID.
- Your location: only if you allow it, to show teachers near you and how far away they are.
- Your work: answers, scores and time taken in practice and tests, homework and worksheets you upload, questions you write, and feedback you send us.
- Your classes: the classes you belong to, attendance, fees due and paid, and class feedback. Live classes carry audio and video, and a teacher can record a class.
- Payments: made through Razorpay. We receive whether a payment succeeded and its reference, never your card or bank details.
- Voice: if you speak a question instead of typing it, the audio is sent to Groq to be turned into text. We do not store the audio.
- Device: your sign-in session and settings are kept on your phone, and we record when you last opened the app.
- Ad clicks: if you arrive from a Google ad, we keep that ad's click ID so we can count how many sign-ups our ads bring. There are no advertising or analytics trackers in the app.
How we use it
To run QnVibe: your practice and progress, your classes and fees, teachers finding students and students finding teachers, checking your phone number, preventing misuse, and improving our questions. We do not sell your data, and we do not show advertising inside the app.
Who can see it
- Your teachers see your work, scores, attendance and fees for the classes you are in.
- Other students in your class or circle see your name and scores on leaderboards.
- Students see a teacher's public profile: photo, experience, rating, languages, fees and classes.
- Buyers in the Marketplace see a seller's phone number for a printed book or notes they buy.
- Service providers who work for us: Google (sign-in, phone codes and the servers we run on), Razorpay (payments) and Groq (voice to text). Google Ads receives only an ad's click ID and when a sign-up happened.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
Children
Many of our users are under 18. If you are under 18, use QnVibe with your parent's or guardian's consent. A parent or guardian can ask us to show, correct or delete their child's data using the contact below. We do not show ads to children or build advertising profiles of them.
Where it is kept, and for how long
Your data is stored on servers in India (Google Cloud, Mumbai). We keep it while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days, except payment records, which we keep for as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it, and you can name someone to act for you. Write to the Grievance Officer below. We reply within 24 hours and resolve the request within 15 days.
Keeping it safe
Data travels over encrypted connections, and only the people who run QnVibe can reach our servers. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its date. For a significant change we will also tell you in the app.
